The Washington Dental Service Foundation SmileMobile, which travels the state offering oral health examinations to children who might not otherwise have access to dental care, will be in White Salmon April 19-27.
The SmileMobile, a brightly painted 38 foot dental clinic on wheels, is hard to miss when it rolls in to town. Funded by Washington Dental Service and in partnership with Seattle Children's Hospital, the SmileMobile provides dental care to children from low-income families.
Children birth through high school with limited access to dental care can be scheduled for appointments by calling White Salmon Health Department at 493-1588.
The SmileMobile is staffed by a clinic manager, a dentist and local volunteer dental professionals in each community it visits.
The SmileMobile will be located at the United Methodist Church, 341 N Main Street in White Salmon.
Staff will be providing examinations Thursday, April 19 and Friday, April 20. Follow-up treatment appointments will be scheduled on a space available basis for the duration of the stay.
The SmileMobile accepts State of Washington Services Card (Provider One) and a sliding fee scale based on family income as reimbursement for service.
The SmileMobile is operated by Washington Dental Service Foundation, a non profit organization funded by Washington Dental Service.
The SmileMobile travels the state year-round providing services including exams, preventive care, fillings and minor oral surgery.
Since 1995, SmileMobile dental professionals have examined and treated more than 30,000 youngsters in communities throughout Washington State.
