The school board discussed listing the old school (which is now the Activity Center) and greenspace (the Park) for sale at some future time. This was added to the agenda by Tom Jellum with no action taken at that time. This brought immediate concern to residents attending the meeting as many have been very active in financial support and physical labor in upgrading the building and the grounds for the betterment of the community. The school board will be having a budget workshop to go over potential cuts on June 14 around 6 to 6:30 p.m. They have to cut about $554,000 due to the loss of the levy and their current financial state. They did not discuss whether or not the levy will be re-run; however, it is expected that it will be in the November general election. Also discussed were their cell tower leases and the company who wants to manage them. The board decided to look at the contract before making any decisions. Afterward, some members of the public discussed concern that the board would be giving up a revenue source, with one community member stating that those bring in $48,000 per year, and the company is only offering about $367,000 for a 30-year lease, which is an amount they could expect to make back in 7.5 years. The board did approve paying for a bus/driver for the Grad+1 event after graduation. It was stated that they probably won't be able to support this next year.

On a lighter side, OLESS Representative Bob Hansen met with and we now have both of them to thank for free WI-FI connection at the Activity Center. It should be up and running again soon.
