Summer Reading Goes Swimming

At White Salmon pool

The White Salmon Valley Community Library along with Sterling Bank, the summer reading presenting sponsor, invites children and families to an end-of-summer celebration on Friday, Aug. 17.

From 12:30-5:00 p.m. everyone who signed up for the library's summer reading program can enjoy a free swim at the White Salmon City Pool.

Following the swim, head across the street to the White Salmon Park for ice cream and a special musical performance by Musango Marimba beginning at 5 p.m.

It's not too late to sign up for summer reading! Sign-ups continue through Aug. 15.

Children and teens can have fun and earn prizes while keeping their reading skills sharp. Prizes must be claimed by Aug. 31.

So far, the 980 kids signed up for summer reading at the White Salmon Valley Community Library have recorded over 2,190 hours of reading, and the 136 teens involved have read more than 600 hours!
