The Skamania County Sheriff's Office and Department of Emergency Management have added to the current capabilities of the Skamania County Emergency Notification System.
These additional capabilities provide the opportunity for the owners of cellular and VOIP (voice over internet protocol) phones to receive a message in the event of an emergency notification within their geographical area at no additional cost.
The past capability only included the wire line phones within the Skamania County which are automatically registered.
With the current trend of homeowners migrating to cellular or VOIP phone rather than the traditional wire line phone, the decision was made to expand the current capabilities of the system to better serve our County residents.
Persons wishing to register their cellular or VOIP phone with the system can contact John Carlson, Skamania County DEM Coordinator, at 509-427-8076 or email at email@example.com
