Glenwood News for March 1

By the

Congratulations to the TLG high school basketball teams on the completion of another fun season. While the boys' team season ended during district play; the girls' team went on to compete in regionals competition at Spokane last weekend. TLG girls squared off against Colton at regionals -- and their goal to play at the state tournament was stymied by a 19 to 92 loss to Colton. Glenwood students who competed on the TLG basketball teams include Dakota Jones, Ashley Sampson, Jaylin Throop and Jonathon Throop. Thanks to each of these players for representing GHS on the basketball court this year.

Those of Republican persuasion in the Glenwood voting precinct are encouraged to participate in the caucus at the Pioneer Center in White Salmon beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 3. 2012 Ketchum Kalf Rodeo Queen Jackie invites the community to attend her coronation on Sunday, March 4, at the Glenwood Grange at 2 p.m. There will be live entertainment from cowboy poets Coyote Joe and Dwayne Nelson, snacks and a silent auction to help support Queen Jackie's travels. Come out to meet Queen Jackie!

The Missoula Children's Theater troupe will be returning to Glenwood from March 5 through 9. The group will work with local students to present "The Little Mermaid." Auditions will be at 3 p.m. on March 5; rehearsals throughout the week; and the performance will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 9. A lasagna dinner is part of the dinner and a play ticket for only $5 per person or $20 for a family. The dinner will be served from 5:00 to 6:30. The quality of the productions the Missoula Children's Theater put on featuring local children in only five days is truly amazing. Be sure to attend this fun community event on March 9.
