Correction on Game Night! It will be starting Jan. 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. and will go for 10 weeks, with food, crafts, long term projects and social time for all ages. Risi Howard encourages your input and ideas that you may have for projects during these hours. Volunteers would be very welcome. For your convenience you can email your ideas and thoughts to: lylegamenight@yahoo.com. Check out their Facebook page set up under "Lyle Game Night."

Family and friends of Ovadell Roth mourn her parting. She was a resident of Lyle for many, many years and those who knew her will certainly miss her presence. Those wishing to attend her graveside service should meet at 1 p.m. at the Lyle-Balch Cemetery on Saturday, Jan. 14.

A few photos of children with Santa are still on the bulletin board at the post office. These photos are compliments of the Twin Bridges Museum so take the one of your child and help by notifying the parents of the ones still there.

OLESS (Old Lyle Elementary School Supporters) meeting will be held Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Lyle Activity Center, corner of 3rd and Klickitat streets. All are welcome to attend. Minutes of previous meetings are available at http://lyleschoolbuilding.blogspot.com/

Taking in the consideration of it being the New Year and "resolution" time, if you have concerns or ideas to share with or about the community, the Lyle Community Council or the OLESS is the place and time to do it. Get involved with the school board, fire department, Twin Bridges Museum, Lions Club or perhaps the long standing Columbia Grange. Consider becoming a positive influence in the community by your attendance and optimistic actions at the meeting of your choice. You don't have to be a member to attend any of these meetings, nor fear sharing what's on your mind, but if you don't speak up no one will know your point of view. So resolve to share with your fellow "Lyleites" by expressing your thoughts or dreams of making our little town the best in the Gorge. If you wish to be "in the know," contact Marcia Buser at buserpdx@yahoo.com and be put on the "What's Happening in Lyle" email list for times and places of most of the events scheduled for these various groups.
