Insitu seeks shoreline permit at Bingen Point

For temporary building

Insitu, Inc., is seeking a shoreline substantial development permit from Klickitat County to enable it to place a 10,800-square-foot temporary modular unit on Bingen Point.

The Klickitat County Board of Commissioners will consider Insitu's application during a July 17 public meeting in Goldendale. The meeting will start at 1:30 p.m.

Insitu wants to put the 180-foot by 60-foot temporary building on Lot 34 of the Port of Klickitat's Bingen Point Binding Site Plan. The proposal includes set asides for parking and associated site development.

The county issued a Mitigated Determination of Non-significance for the proposal, per the county's Environmental Ordinance and the State Environmental Policy Act, on May 25.

Development of a substantial nature (with a fair market value of $2,500 or more) and occurring within a designated shoreline of the state is required by the Shorelines Management Act to obtain a permit from the jurisdictional government agency.

County Commissioners may take action on July 17 to approve the permit application, approve it with conditions, deny it, table it, continue the matter to a set time and date, or schedule a public hearing.
