Interfaith service of thanks on Monday

To support emergency assistance fund

The Mount Adams Ministerial Association holds its annual interfaith celebration of thanksgiving this Monday, Nov. 19.

An "Everyone Welcome" potluck supper begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by the interfaith celebration at 7.

Readings, music, chanting, prayers of thanksgiving and reflections will be offered by the Baha'i Spiritual Assembly of Klickitat County; Bethel Congregational United Church of Christ; the Mid-Columbia Unitarian Universalist Fellowship; the Mount Adams Zen Buddhist Temple; St. Joseph's Catholic Church; St. Mark's Episcopal Church; the Trout Lake Presbyterian Church; and the White Salmon United Methodist Church.

The event will hold an offering for the Mount Adams Ministerial Association Emergency Assistance Fund which assists people with emergency needs in Kickitat and Skamania counties.

The fund supports the social service work of local faith communities and works in partnership with the Washington Gorge Action Program and Skyline Hospital.

It also supports the Gorge Ecumenical Ministries Warming Shelter based in Hood River and makes referrals to social service agencies in the area.
