With the sounds of check out scanners beeping this past Black Friday we have officially entered into the holiday season. There is lots of holiday shopping to do and as announced last week there are a couple of great opportunities to do so right here in Trout Lake on Saturday, Dec. 1.

For starters, support your school at the National Honor Society Annual Holiday Market which will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the school multi-purpose room. There will be lunch, children's activities, and door prizes. Not to mention the locally made crafts.

Also, Destino is having a Holiday Open House with shopping for great local arts and crafts from 10 to 4 p.m. with a cheese tasting with Cascadia Creamery from 4 to 7 p.m.

Then on Thursday, Dec. 6, Operation Sleighbells will be coming to the Chevron Station from 5 to 5:45 p.m. Once again, the sheriffs department and volunteers are escorting Santa to local communities in the county so that every child will have the opportunity to tell Santa their wish. Don't forget a camera to capture the moment with your child!

Finally, the Trout Lake Fire Commissioners welcome the public to the yearly budget meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. at the fire station.
