White Salmon offers 'Safe Halloween'

At downtown businesses

Fairy princesses and super-heroes will share the sidewalks in the heart of downtown White Salmon with ghosts and ghouls for an evening of trick-or-treating at the 7th annual Community Safe Halloween.

Next Wednesday evening, Oct. 31, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., Halloween will be in two adjacent White Salmon locations for kids and parents both.

Shops, businesses, churches and civic groups from both Bingen and White Salmon will line both sides of downtown Jewett Blvd., treating costumed tricksters with candy, treats, and other surprises, as well as warm cider, hot chocolate and hot dogs to warm hands and fill tummies on a chilly autumn evening.

The Music Matters jazz group will also be playing from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 10 Speed Coffee.

Mid-Columbia Ministries will also offer exciting carnival-style games, prizes, treats, information, and much more at their 18th annual "Festival of Light" Christian alternative to Halloween in the parking lot between Wauna and Estes, across from Thriftway.

Bring a canned food donation for the food bank collection barrel at the Business Partners booth to help your neighbors through the Washington Gorge Action Programs.

Sponsored by Bingen-White Salmon Business Partners, MidColumbia Ministries, and participating local shops, businesses, churches and civic groups.
