Elizabeth Jones asked that a thank you be extended to the Glenwood community for support of the 4-Hers at the Klickitat County Fair this summer. Local 4-Hers participated in gaming and penning, livestock projects, sewing, drawing, photography scrapbooking and livestock judging. The young people appreciated not only your monetary support at the livestock auction but encouraging the 4-Hers and visiting their projects at the fair. Glenwood 4-H fair exhibitors included Dakota and Dalton Jones; Colton and Kinley Troh; Vicky Valdez; Jaylin and Jonathan Throop; Joslyn Arnold; Bailey and Alise Gimlin; Baylee, Madi and Bella Couch; Kaitlyn Masden and Angel Murillo.
With school back in session, fall sports are in full swing. Glenwood High School students are playing volleyball on the TLG team and football at Columbia High School in White Salmon. Whitney Feller, Dakota Jones and Bethany Putnam are part of the TLG volleyball team; while Baylee Couch, Dalton Jones and Richard Slawson are suiting up for the Columbia High Bruin's football team. Best wishes to each of the athletes as they participate in the fall sports. Check with the school for game schedules.
The 10th annual Fun Prize Ride is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 30. Two different lengths of rides are planned -- both beginning and ending at the Glenwood Rodeo Grounds. First horse out at 10 a.m. with the last horse out by noon. This time of year offers a nice ride through spectacular fall-colored scenery. Prizes will be awarded. The rodeo association ladies will be cooking up a burger or kielbasa, beans and dessert lunch for only $6 for riders or just plain-hungry folks. We hope to see you there! If you have questions, please contact Roxie at 364-3539.
