City Council approves purchase of materials to re-roof park gazebo

The White Salmon City Council on Aug. 8 came up with matching funds from within its own ranks, then authorized the purchase of materials to re-roof the gazebo in Rhinegarten Park.

White Salmon resident Don Tackley has put up $750 of the project’s $1,500 budget and challenged the City Council to match it. The repair will be carried out by volunteers from White Salmon’s Grace Baptist Church.

Mayor David Poucher noted the city recently received a $500 donation toward the project from Ping Pong Productions. That left the budget $250 short.

Poucher said he and his wife Jane will donate $100. Councilors George Rau, Allan Wolf, and Jason Sabourin each agreed to contribute $50.
