A low-cost greenhouse construction demonstration will be held on Feb. 16 on the south side of the Goldendale Primary School at 820 S Schuster Ave. in Goldendale.
Construction of a low tunnel greenhouse will start at 10 a.m. and conclude by 2 p.m.
Participants should dress for the weather, wear work gloves and bring a lunch.
This program will be free and open to the public; no pre-registration is required.
This program is sponsored in part by a WSDA Specialty Crop grant.
Specialty crops include vegetables, fruit, nuts, nursery crops, herbs, small fruit and many other products.
Additional season extension workshops will be conducted in the future, along with other workshops on production and marketing topics.
This grant is also supporting a six-week financial education series for specialty crop producers, held every Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 PM at Riverview Community Bank in Goldendale through March 5.
Participants may join this program at any time.
