These sunny days, while a welcome change, may still have you feeling house bound because of the icy temperatures. Consider adding one of the following to your calendar...
Cabin Fever Festival -- Never fear, the Cabin Fever Festival is on its way, just a little later this year. Often held Martin Luther King weekend, this year the festivities will take place on Feb. 8 and 9. More information to come.
Community Council Position -- Looking for a way to help out the community? Consider a position on the Trout Lake Community Council. The Council is looking for a new member. Anyone interested should attend the Community Council meeting Feb. 6, 7 p.m., at Trout Lake School. If you have questions, please contact Frank Childs at 395-2469.
TL Robotics -- The Trout Lake School Robotics Team is still collecting scrap metal as a fundraiser. Please contact Fred Paxon if you have a donation. Additionally, the team is seeking dinners for the 10 days they are assembling the robot. Help them through the long hours with a hearty meal. Contact Donna Tiffan.
First Aid/CPR Classes -- Skyline Hospital is now offering community members and local businesses First Aid and CPR courses to teach individuals how to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking for adult and child victims. This program is designed for first-time and renewal students. The course is sanctioned by the American Heart Association (AHA); students receive a two-year certification card from the AHA. The three hour course is offered once a month. Cost is $55 per person. See website for exact dates. Pre-registration is encouraged. For dates and more information go to www.skylinehospital.com or call Gorge Rescue at 541-490-4657 and ask about First Aid/CPR at Skyline Hospital.
