Mid-Columbia River National Wildlife Refuge Complex, Including Conboy, Closed Due To Shutdown

The Federal Government will be closed as current funding expired on Sept. 30. Due to this event, the Mid-Columbia River National Wildlife Refuge Complex will be closed to the public. This includes: Conboy Lake National Wildlife Refuge, Glenwood; Columbia National Wildlife Refuge, Othello; Cold Spring National Wildlife Refuge, Hermiston, Ore.; McKay Creek National Wildlife Refuge, Pendleton, Ore.; McNary National Wildlife Refuge, Burbank; Toppenish National Wildlife Refuge, Toppenish; Umatilla National Wildlife Refuge, Irrigon, Ore.; and Hanford Reach National Monument, Richland.

For programs experiencing a lapse in appropriated funding, only limited functions would continue, such as those necessary to respond to emergencies and to protect human life or property. While a lapse in appropriations remains in effect, public access to service properties will be prohibited and fish and wildlife management activities and public programs will be cancelled.

All other refuge activities, such as hunting, are also cancelled until funding is restored.
