History of Underwood published by two authors

After two years of research and writing by Underwood residents Mary Kapp and Kathy LaMotte, their book titled, Underwood Through the Years, is finished and printed.

The book covers early years on the mountain, damaging fires, communities with their separate lumber mills and schools, the onset of electricity and television, homesteaders, orchards, and the people in general from early Native Americans to current residents.

The book will also be available at the Underwood Community Center (old gym) from 3 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 17.
