Nature series lecturers present ideas for improving the lot of local wildlife

April’s “Wild About Nature” series continued at the White Salmon Valley Community Library last Friday and featured speakers Jim Hulbert, talking about Nesting Habits of Western Bluebirds, Tree Swallows, and Wood Ducks; and Tom Snellgrove, who spoke about the efforts he and his wife have taken to preserve the wildlife and habitat on their 10-acre home.

County Board hearing on Husum/BZ land use plan drawing a lot of interest

Tonight’s Husum/BZ Corner land use hearing at the White Salmon Pioneer Center has been drawing lots of interest from members of the public who contacted The Enterprise by telephone and e-mail last week with requests to post an April 9 story about the hearing on its Web site.

Details still being worked out for Whitson afterschool care program

Whitson Elementary is looking into starting an afterschool program outside of its current Community Learning Centers program (CLC). The new afterschool care program is projected to start as early as this fall with about 20 students in the first year.
