Grassroots project exploring aging with dignity in Gorge

Community conversations about elders, aging and caregiving, sponsored by the Aging in the Gorge Alliance (Alianza de la Tercera Edad), were launched on Saturday, Oct. 22, with a “World Café” attended by 50 people from nearly all Gorge communities. Three experts on aging also came, driving from Portland to see this grassroots project in action.

WS City Hall gets a new sign

Without the final touches, the large Styrofoam-looking sign appears monochrome. Teal and off-white shapes were the only indicator of the intended design: a leaping salmon superimposed over a forestry backdrop. This is the final stage of the new sign for White Salmon’s City Hall.

Growing up, some kids go through a career-choosing phase, wanting to pursue the path of a doctor, marine biologist or professional athlete. For Dr. Joni Greenberger, her desire to become a vet was sparked at an early age and drove her pursuits to veterinary school, where her passion continued.
