Martha (Marty) Clouse left her earthly bonds March 31, 2014, to join those who have gone before her. She was born Aug. 18, 1940, to Margaret (Beck) and Ellis Johnson in Patoka, Indiana.
Marty graduated from Deaconess School of Nursing (Evansville, Ind.) in 1961. She met Gary Clouse in 1972 and they married in Colorado Springs, Colo., in 1973. The couple raised two children, Shanna and Erick.
Marty spent her life as a nurse with employment in hospitals, care centers and her final years as a school nurse for schools in the Columbia River Gorge. In 1993 she earned her BSN at the University of Alaska-Anchorage and served as a nurse wherever she and Gary lived until retiring in 2008.
Mrs. Clouse was a member of P.E.O. and the United Methodist Church.
She will be missed by her husband Gary of White Salmon; daughter Shanna Peek and her husband Mike of Kirkland; son Erick Clouse and his wife Shanell of Vancouver; grandchildren Garret and Olivia Peek; two brothers; one sister and a wonderful extended family. She was preceded in death by her youngest sister Kate and eldest sister Jerry.
A graveside service was held at the White Salmon Cemetery on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at 10 a.m.
