Walter Scott Clawson

Walter Scott Clawson U.S. Veteran

July 30, 1941 - June 25, 2014

Walter Scott Clawson was born on July 30, 1941, in Walla Walla, to Scott and Daisy Clawson and passed away June 25, 2014, from a car accident in Lyle.
Wally graduated from Hudson’s Bay High School in 1959. After graduation he enlisted in the Navy and trained as a welder. Once he left the Navy he was hired by Bonneville Power Adminstration at the Ross Substation in Vancouver. In 1980 he was transferred to the Celilo Substation in The Dalles, Ore.
He and his wife Suzie moved their family of five up to Lyle and he continued to work at Celilo until his retirement in 1996.
After Wally retired from BPA, he had a hard time sitting still so decided to give school bus driving a try and a happy second career was established. He continued to drive school bus for the Lyle School District until full time retirement beckoned. For all of his life Wally was an avid outdoorsman, whether it be fishing, hunting, camping or riding his beloved Harley Davidson he was most happy being out of doors living life to the fullest.
Wally was preceded in death by his beloved wife Suzie in 2006 and his father, Scott, in 2000. We know they are together again.
Wally is survived by his mother Daisy Clawson, Battle Ground; sister Virginia Fry, Battle Ground; son Scott Johnson (Tracy), Vancouver; daughters Cindy Coons (Leon), Washougal, Tracie Bolding (Allen), Vancouver; grandsons Jakob, Kade, Eddie, Tanner, and Logan; and granddaughters Sharon and Madison
