Duane Irvin Beecher was born in Great Falls, Mont., to Ann (Engen) and Howard I. Beecher on Feb. 28, 1949. He passed away at the age of 69 in White Salmon on Aug. 5, 2018.
Duane worked for Burke Electric for over 40 years as a superintendent/senior estimator. He was a devoted member of the Eagles and Elks Lodges, and one-time Exalted Ruler of the Elks.
An avid race fan, he spent years racing cars and bikes. He also loved to fish and spend time on the water.
He is survived by his daughter Katie Harris (Mark) of Lithia, Fla.; son Brian Beecher (Laura) of Vancouver; brother Ed Peterson (Vicki) of Boulder, Mont.; companion Paulette Garcia; and three grandchildren, Jessica Harris, Ben Beecher, and Jacob Harris.
He will be missed by his family and many friends.
An Elks funeral will be held at the Elks Lodge in White Salmon on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at 2 p.m. followed by a reception at the Eagles Lodge in Bingen from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
