ELSIE L. DICKEY

Elsie L. Yarnell Dickey, 90, formerly of White Salmon, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, in Corvallis, Ore.
Elsie was born July 11, 1928, in Kenmare, N.D., the daughter of Joseph and Blanche (Coon) Wood. She moved to the Yakima Valley in Washington as a child. As a young woman, she married Marvin Miller. They later divorced.
Elsie then married Buck Yarnell on Dec. 1, 1947, in Vancouver. They resided in White Salmon where Elsie worked for Underwood Fruit for about 50 years before retiring. Buck preceded her in death after 53 years of marriage. She then married Robert Dickey on Oct. 11, 2005, he preceded her in death in 2014. Elsie then moved to the Lebanon, Ore., to be near her daughter.
Elsie was a member of the Congregational Church in White Salmon. She loved swimming and having people over to swim in her pool.
She is survived by her daughter Joy Yarnell-Brayton of Lebanon; brother Joe Wood of Home Valley; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her son Marvin Yarnell preceded her in death on March 11, 2000.
A memorial service will be held from 2 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, at the Mt. Adams Elks Lodge in White Salmon. Huston-Jost Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
