Thomas Montgomery Schalk was born on May 21, 1967, in Astoria, Ore.
Tom attended White Salmon School District where he was an excellent kicker. As a kid, Tom would like to bike from Underwood to Northwestern Lake where he would spend a good amount of his time fishing.
After school, Tom moved back to Astoria making a living working at a shipyard.
Some of Tom’s favorite activities were to kayak, where he would mostly hunt crab, as well as hunting elk. Tom was a talented wood carver. Some of his most impressive carvings were the logos for Spirit Mountain.
Tom is preceded in death by his mother Sharon Schalk, his brother Lenny Schalk and his sister Lori Schalk. He is survived by his father Eldon Schalk and his sister Judy Bean.
There will be a small family service to put him to rest.
