The bridge over the White Salmon River below Husum Falls is scheduled for repainting next month, according to the Washington State Department of Trans-portation’s (WSDOT) Columbia Gorge Area engineer, Chris Tams. Geronimo Painting Co. was awarded the project’s contract for $722,122; funding arises from a mix of state and federal money. Tams said Geronimo will start Sept. 3 by bringing in equipment and setting up signs for the project. “They can begin painting the trusses above the existing roadway as soon as they are ready,” Tams said. “They will not have any impacts below the bridge until Sept. 22. This was done to accommodate the rafting businesses in the area.”
