Vic Wild and his wife, Alena Zavarzina, clutch the Russian flag moments after Wild won his first gold medal at the Sochi Winter Olympics on Feb. 19. Wild, originally of White Salmon, is the first American-born athlete to compete for Russia and took another gold medal in the Parallel Slalom on Feb. 22. Zarvarzina also took the bronze in women’s Parallel Giant Slalom.
