  • ...Low elevation snow will continue overnight...
    .A cold front will continue snow through around 2 AM early
    Saturday morning with snow levels at 1000 to 2000 feet, locally as
    low as 500 feet. The heaviest snow is expected to fall in the
    mountains of Curry, Josephine, and western Siskiyou counties.
    Total snow this evening and overnight could be 1 to 3 inches
    at lower elevation areas of the west side, the Shasta Valley and
    the East Side. These areas may also see any wet, slushy, untreated
    roads refreeze as temperatures fall to near or below freezing
    early Saturday morning. After a brief break in precipitation
    early Saturday morning, another storm will arrive at the coast
    around 6 AM Saturday morning with periods of heavy snow on
    Saturday above 1500 feet from the Curry and western Josephine
    County Coast Ranges into the western Siskiyou County Mountains.
    Low elevation snow may impact Highway 199 again near Hayes Hill
    and perhaps Cave Junction before snow levels rise again Saturday
    afternoon.

    * WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 10 to
    20 inches in the warning area. Total snow accumulations of 5
    to 10 inches in the advisory area.
    * WHERE...Warning for elevations above 5500 feet, including
    Crater lake and Diamond Lake, Highway 62, Highway 138 near
    Toketee Falls, and Mt. Ashland ski area. Advisory for
    elevations above 4000 feet, including Highway 140 at Lake of
    the Woods, Highway 66 near Greensprings, I-5 at Siskiyou
    Summit, Highway 58 near Willamette Pass, and Highway 138 near
    Diamond Lake.
    * WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, until 1 AM PDT Saturday.
    For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 1 AM PDT Saturday.
    * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel will be very difficult. Significant
    reductions in visibility are possible. Strong southwest winds
    of 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph will create near blizzard
    conditions at times over peaks, including the Mt. Ashland ski
    area.
