  • ...FLASH FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON...
    THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR
    * A PORTION OF WESTERN WASHINGTON...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING
    COUNTY... SNOHOMISH.
    * THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON
    * THE NORTH FORK STILLAGUAMISH RIVER IS FLOWING THROUGH THE
    BLOCKAGE IN A NEW RIVER CHANNEL IN AN ORDERLY FASHION AT THIS
    TIME. THE LEVEL OF THE POOL BEHIND THE BLOCKAGE CONTINUES TO
    SLOWLY RECEDE.
    * THE LIKELIHOOD OF A SUDDEN BREACH OF THE DEBRIS DAM IS VERY LOW.
    HOWEVER...THE INSTABILITY OF THE DEBRIS DAM AND THE MATERIAL IN
    IT...AND THE UNKNOWN NATURE OF HOW AND HOW FAST THE NEW RIVER
    CHANNEL WILL CUT DOWN THROUGH IT AND DRAIN THE LAKE...MEANS
    THERE REMAINS A FLASH FLOOD THREAT. THIS THREAT WILL REMAIN
    UNTIL THE IMPOUNDED POOL DRAINS DOWN AT LEAST TO SOME
    SIGNIFICANT DEGREE. THIS COULD STILL RESULT IN A RAPID RISE OF
    WATER AND IS A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
