Food for All

Washington Gorge Action Programs’ (WGAP) third annual Food for All on Saturday, Aug. 3, at Aniche Cellars, raised $29,242 in support of the four food banks in Skamania and Klickitat counties.

More than 100 community members came together for an evening of food, drink, music and compassion for our neighbors in need.

“Our Food Banks are vital to the health and resilience of our neighbors in need. These funds will allow us to continue operations uninterrupted,” said Leslie Naramore, executive director of WGAP, “We’re thankful for a community that appreciates and allows us to continue our work. Our four Food Banks could not continue without the support we receive and for that we are grateful. We know our community cares!”

The event included a story about what the Food Bank means to our clients - a veteran, who doesn’t have money for food.

He uses the money he has to go every day, to visit his wife in a memory care facility in Portland.

The Food Bank is there so he doesn’t have to make the choice between eating and seeing his ailing spouse.

Aniche Cellars hosted the event including the four-course meal with wine pairings from Pahto Wines, Tetrahedron, and Willow Wine Cellars. The four female owners/operators of each respective winery described their wine, their process and their philosophy of wine-making.

“Food for All is such an amazing event,” Anais Mera, of AniChe Cellars said. “We look forward to doing it again next year, even better.”

The fourth annual Food for All will be again at AniChe Cellars on Aug. 1, 2020.
