Wow…what a showing the Glenwood 4-H kids made at this year’s Klickitat County Fair! Angel Murillo raised the Grand Champion Market Steer; while Madi Couch had the Grand Champion Market Hog! Doneva Brown’s novice 4-H horsewomen had an outstanding show as well. Each of the girls (Madi Couch, Bailey Gimlin, Kaitlyn Masden, Nahaleigh Schuster, Abby and Lizzie Hawkins and Melody Nilson) came home with at least one grand champion, purple ribbon! I hope to get additional results from the fair to report later on.

Nahaleigh Schuster’s mom, Gina, would like to congratulate Nahaleigh on an exceptional show at the fair last week! Miss Schuster, who was a novice in the equine events, ended up with grand champion ribbons in bareback equitation, English pleasure and a reserve champion ribbon in gaming! On top of those honors…she was awarded the Junior Sportsman award! Way to go Nahaleigh!

Does simply “thinking” about chocolate bring a smile to your face?!? Try thinking about this – hanging out with friends, while enjoying your favorite hot beverage, nibbling on a brownie or a bit of chocolate pie, laughing, talking, and relaxing together – it’s a perfect gathering! Plan to join us at Café Chocolate. It is a retreat where we’ll focus on God’s grace – with a bit of chocolate sprinkled on top. The annual women’s retreat, Café Chocolate, will be held Sept. 20 through 22 in Welches, Ore. The cost is $100 and includes lodging and meals. Call Jennifer Hallenbeck at 364-3517 to register by Sept. 1.

Miss Bethany Putnam went on a mission to Peru earlier this summer – and will share all of the wonderful details at the church in September. Following Bethany’s presentation, a potluck dessert will be enjoyed as well! Please bring a dessert to share if you will be attending.
