The Cities of Bingen and White Salmon have scheduled back-to-back public hearings on an ordinance proposed by Community Upcycle to both cities. The first will be held tonight, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. at Bingen City Hall. The City of White Salmon will hold their public hearing the following day, Oct. 2 at 6 p.m. at the White Salmon Fire Hall.

The proposed ordinance aims to limit the amount of single-use plastic and paper bags that go to waste through a 10-cent fee on “single-use plastic bags” and “barrel size paper bags,” charged to the customer.
