Wild racks up two Olympic golds

Vic Wild, originally of White Salmon, is competing in the Sochi Olympics in the Parallel Giant Slalom and Parallel Slalom events.

White Salmon has produced some amazing things over the years and now it can add "gold-medal-winning Olympian" to that list.

Vic Wild, 27, originally of White Salmon, took the gold medal in men's parallel giant slalom and men's parallel slalom in Sochi last week.

Wild is the first American-born athlete to compete in the winter Olympics for Russia.

In addition to Wild's success on the parallel giant slalom and slalom courses, his wife, Russian snowboarder Alena Zavarzina, took bronze in the women's version of the event just before Wild took to the course last week.
