William Burch Schilling, son of Robert and Willena Schilling was born on Sept. 19, 1957. He passed away from a sudden heart attack on the afternoon of May 4, 2019.
He was born and raised in White Salmon, with step-sister Jeri, sister Janice, brother Bob, and step-brother Wes.
After high school, Bill attended Clark College in Vancouver. He received his associate degree in Culinary Arts. He went on to work in several commercial bakeries in the Portland/Vancouver area, including at Costco. Later on, he moved to a cashier role at Costco where he worked for the next 27 years. During his time there he made friends with co-workers and customers alike.
Bill’s hobbies included baking and traveling the world. Bill visited 22 countries including: Egypt, New Zealand, Brazil, Thailand, Hungary, and Denmark.
Bill is survived by his best friend and life partner Jeff Algie, mother Billie, sister Janice, brother Bob, nephew Andy, and also by numerous local family members and countless friends and co-workers.
Services are being handled by Gardner Funeral home, a graveside service will be held on May 22, 2019, at 11 a.m.
